Ingeniería Romana - Webby Awards 2015

ENGLISH As the Roman Empire expanded through Europe, there were built prodigious structures to construct their cities. RTVE.es Lab has developed a webdoc that complements the documentary TV show Ingeniería Romana (Roma Engineering) and allows to experience with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality how were built places as the circus, the forum, the amphitheater and the religious building of Tarragona (Spain). It is a journey guided by characters of the Roman world that lead users through scenarios that combine 360 degrees videos and 3D reconstructions of the ancient empire. The experience becomes totally immersive with VR glasses.

ESPAÑOL El Imperio romano, en su expansión por Europa, construyó obras prodigiosas en aras de levantar sus ciudades. El LAB RTVE.es ha elaborado un webdoc que complementa la serie documental de televisión Ingeniería Romana que permite experimentar en realidad virtual y aumentada cómo se construyeron el circo, el foro, el anfiteatro y el recinto de culto de Tarragona (España). Es un recorrido en el que personajes del mundo romano conducen al usuario por escenarios que combinan vídeos 360º con reconstrucciones 3D del antiguo imperio. La experiencia es totalmente inmersiva con unas gafas de realidad virtual.

ENGLISH RTVE.es Lab is a visual innovation department that investigates new narratives and languages to identify the best way to tell each story. Founded in June 2011, consists of a multidisplinar team of designers, reporters, producers and developers who share a common goal: to apply creativity in the development of interactive audiovisual content.

ESPAÑOL El Lab de RTVE.es es un departamento de innovación audiovisual que investiga nuevas narrativas y lenguajes para detectar la mejor forma de contar cada historia. Fundado en junio de 2011, está integrado por un equipo multidisplinar de diseñadores, informadores, realizadores y desarrolladores que comparten un mismo objetivo: aplicar la creatividad en la elaboración de contenido audiovisual interactivo.
